Overview: The movement of high risk inmates outside the secure perimeter of a correctional facility poses unique obstacles to staff, not only when there is a viable threat of an assisted escape, but also when there is a threat to the life of the inmate. Our course was designed to prepare students to face the obstacles associated with high risk escorts. Each student will learn all facets of escort procedures to include briefings, identify possible threats, the mind-set of possible assailants, methods of attacks, and procedures for declaring and responding to an emergency. This course will be taught by instructors who have real life experience transporting some of the most dangerous and violent criminals in the United States.
